Baba Nanak’s philosophy revolves around Oneness of Universe. The legend says that while in Sultanpur Lodi, he would travel across river Beni and meditate in graveyard. It is believed that in water he got the Divine enlightenment, and he composed the Mool Mantra (the Core Belief), the word of Eternal one ੴ. It elaborates that there is One God the True Eternal, who Created all, who is Fearless, without Malice (forgiving), is Formless, was neither Born nor will Die, He exists by His Will and is realized through the knowledge for which he is the Guru ੴ सति नामु करता पुरखु निरभउ निरवैरु अकाल मूरति अजूनी सैभं गुर प्रसादि ॥
This has inspired the artist to create this series of embroidered artwork to give an expression of Oneness of People, Nature, Gender, Universe as worded by the Eternal One ੴ. Be the glory of the supreme knowledgeable वाहेगुरु.
This has inspired me to create this embroidered artwork with Mehjabi and Shafi to have self realisation about the One Name behind all aspects of the Divine. Bani takes us into the world of Baba Nanak. This Bani with its full grace has been lovingly embroidered in zardosi and chikankari with various name of the Divine to express the faith in his words.
